Palliative and end of life support at home

Most people, asked where they would like to be at the end of their life, say home. Making that possible usually takes more hands than a family has. We provide the personal care and the presence; the clinical side stays with the nursing and specialist teams.

What we provide

  • Personal care delivered gently and without rush — washing, mouth care, skin care, changing position
  • Help with eating and drinking for as long as that is wanted
  • Sitting with someone so they are not alone, including waking nights
  • Practical support around the house, so the family is not fighting the laundry as well
  • Respite for relatives who have been awake for three nights and cannot do a fourth

What we do not provide

We are registered with CQC for personal care, not for clinical treatment. Pain and symptom management, syringe drivers, wound care and prescribing stay with the district nursing team, the GP, and specialist palliative services such as your local hospice.

We work alongside them and follow the plan they set. We will always tell you plainly when something needs a nurse rather than a carer — being clear about that is part of doing this well.

Familiar surroundings, and the people who belong in them.

Supporting the family too

End of life care at home is as much about the people in the next room. We will explain what we are doing and why, tell you what tends to happen next so less of it is frightening, and take on the ordinary tasks that pile up.

If you want to do the personal care yourself, we will support you to do it rather than take it over.

Arranging care quickly

These situations rarely allow for a long process. Call us and we will tell you honestly what we can put in place and how fast. If a hospice or district nurse is already involved, give us their details and we will coordinate directly rather than making you relay messages.

Care at the end of life may be funded by NHS Continuing Healthcare or through a fast-track pathway — the hospital or community team can start that, and it moves quicker than people expect.

No obligation, no sales visit. If you are arranging care for the first time and do not know what to ask, that is the normal place to start — just call.
