Work with us

We are recruiting Health Care Assistants and Support Workers. If you have done this work before and left because the rounds were impossible, this is a deliberate attempt at the opposite.

Health Care Assistant

You will visit people in their own homes and help with personal care — washing, dressing, continence support, getting up in the morning and settling at night. You will prompt or assist with medication and record it on every visit, help with meals and drinks, support people to move safely around their home, and keep an eye on the small changes that matter: a wound that looks wrong, someone eating less, new confusion.

You will write clear notes after every visit, because the next carer and the district nurse rely on them.

Support Worker

You will support adults to live independently, often in their own tenancy. That means practical help that builds skills rather than replacing them — budgeting, shopping, cooking, managing a tenancy, medication routines, getting to appointments, using public transport with confidence, and finding college, work or volunteering.

Many of the people you support will be living with a mental health condition, a learning disability or a physical disability. Consistency matters more than intensity: the same familiar face, at predictable times, who notices early when something is shifting. Waking nights and sleep-ins are part of some packages.

Most of this job happens in somebody else’s kitchen.

What we are looking for

  • Kindness that survives a bad morning
  • Reliability — turning up matters more than anything else in this job
  • Patience, and the sense to notice when something is not right and say so
  • Clear written notes, and the discipline to complete them every visit
  • Respect for privacy and dignity, including in the undignified moments
  • The right to work in the UK, and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check

Experience is welcome. If you do not have any but you have cared for someone in your own family, tell us — we will train the rest.
